Digital X-rays play an invaluable role in the diagnosis of dental problems. We need to have a complete set of X-rays to completely diagnose a patient's needed care but many people are concerned about exposure to x-ray radiation. Digital x-rays eliminates these worries because it requires 90% less radiation than conventional film x-rays. So a complete set of X-Rays (14 films) has the radiation of only 2 conventional films.
It is as accurate as conventional x-rays and even reveals things film can't. The digital x-rays image can be magnified 300 times its normal size to enhance diagnosis:
